Not only have psychologists etc linked TV violence viewing directly to crime in the USA ( see book ) but it also stokes consumerism and steals our identities,money and cultures. But are the authorities listening ? Am I to believe that only Journalists and News Reporters are Media Workers or are those who are associated with the publishing of the news presented by these reporters also Media Workers? I was unable to get through to state that the reason the journalists were not that assertive is i dont think any of them knew THE PURPOSE OF THE SUMMIT, OR THE CONCEPT. They had nothing to ask of importance. also, their jobs did not depend on them asking a question, if there was an incentive towards getting a question in, they would have done more to be heard. Mr. Hopkinson, what do you have to offer people who become members of your association, what i mean is after the training class, do you have resources to help your members, could they call on you for assistance, would you provide them to future news worthy events, locally or internationally, what makes your members feel as though getting a certificate of continuing education is a necessity. do you sit with the employers and guarantee them that they financial situation will be a tax deduction? you have to offer something to get something. i think you have more work to do on your part also, more knowledge is needed on your behalf to be ahead of the journalism game. it is not an easy career these days. i am grateful that this issue was addressed and i think you need to be on the air more making offers to journalists and giving them a reason to become members. you could do more than you are doing, and since it is pertaining to education/information you will succeed. take that leap of faith. thanks for being there. i was listening on april 19th, on I95.5 fm radio – Showdown with George Joseph.
